The grade could go up much higher in the future as Rodney Carney and Bobby Jones look like they might turn out to be pretty good basketball players. Forward Rodney Carney played in 67 games this season and he averaged 17.4 minutes, 6.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. He could be a future starter for the Sixers as it appears that he’s got game. Forward Bobby Jones played in 44 games and he averaged 2.5 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game this season. He showed at the end of the season that he could play when the Sixers finally let him get his butt off of the bench. Forward Louis Amundson played in 11 games this season and he averaged 8.1 minutes, 1.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game. He rebounded well in his limited time but it’s too early to tell whether he will be a decent player or not.

The 76ers finished the season in 3rd place in the Atlantic Division with a 35-47 record, 12 games behind the Toronto Raptors. The Sixers did defend their home court as they were 21-20 there and only 14-27 on the road. The Sixers were only 24-28 against the Eastern Conference, but they were 9-7 against Division foes. The 76ers wound up averaging 94.9 points and allowing 98.0 points. The Sixers did end the season on a hot streak as they won 6 of their last 10 games.

Willie Green better step it up for the Sixers or else they need to find a new shooting guard

After the trade of Allen Iverson to the Denver Nuggets the Sixers wanted to see what they had in Willie Green. If he doesn’t start to play better the Sixers will have to look to free agency or the draft to replace Green and sit him back on the bench. In 5 games in April he has averaged 30.2 minutes, 11.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. His shooting also has been off as he’s only hit 39.7% of his shots from the floor and he’s only hit 4 of 15 (26.7%) from three-point range.

The Philadelphia 76ers might have to shut Kyle Korver down for the last few games

Blogged under Bloglockers, Big Sixers News, Injuries, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 12 April 2007 at 10:34 am

Kyle Korver has a small tendon tear in his right wrist and is out indefinately. The Sixers might as well shut him down because his best skill is his shooting ability and having a right wrist injury will surely effect his shooting. He has played in 73 games this season and he averaged 14.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. He also shot 42.5% from three-point range which is fantastic. If he played better on defense he would be a starter, but he’s very effective in his role as the long range bomber off of the bench for the Sixers.

A couple of players are stepping up for the Philadelphia 76ers as of late

Andre Iguodala and Samuel Dalembert are both taking their games to new levels the last couple of weeks. In his last 6 games, A.I. is averaging 20.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He’s the perfect complement to point guard Andre Miller because both of them are such unselfish players which is a breath of fresh air in Philly. Dalembert has really been an enforcer in the paint in his last 6 games as he’s averaging 13.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 block per game. He’s also hitting 59.7% from the floor in those games which is why he’s getting the basketball more.
