The 76ers outscored the Bucks 64-43 in the second half and that led them to a nice home victory. The Sixers were led by Willie Green, who poured in 30 points and dished out 4 assists. Andre Iguodala had a great all-around game with 26 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals.

The Sixers improved to 10-26 on the season with this win. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270112020

Chris Webber waived by the Sixers

Blogged under Big Sixers News, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 11 January 2007 at 3:02 pm

Chris Webber has been bought out and cut loose by the Sixers. He reportedly has alot of teams interested in him such as the Miami Heat, Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers. It’s questionable as to what he can add to any of those teams as he played poorly for the Sixers. Webber played in 18 games this season and averaged 30.2 minutes, 11.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. He also lost his shooting touch as he only hit 38.7% of his shots this season. Getting rid of Webber should help the overall attitude of the Sixers. Joe Smith will take over as the starting power forward for the Sixers.

The Sixers fall to the Knicks 106-99 in New York

Blogged under Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 11 January 2007 at 12:55 pm

The Sixers didn’t play any defense as they let the Knicks hit 53.1% of their shots from the floor and that cost them the game. Can’t blame Samuel Dalembert for the loss as he scored 18 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and blocked 3 shots. Joe Smith also played a decent game with 16 points and 5 rebounds.

The Sixers fell to 9-26 on the season with this loss. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270110018

Sixers horrible defense does them in as they lose 98-89 in Philadelphia to the Pistons

Blogged under Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 10 January 2007 at 2:18 pm

The Sixers allowed the Pistons to hit 56.3% of their shots from the floor and they couldn’t overcome that. Willie Green led the way for the Sixers with 16 points off the bench. Andre Iguodala had a decent game with 15 points and 7 assists. Samuel Dalembert was great inside with 14 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.

The Sixers fell to 9-25 on the season with this loss. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270109020

Sixers season in disarray

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 10 January 2007 at 12:35 am

The 76ers are having a horrible season as they’re in last place in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The Sixers are 9-24 on the season and are only 5.5 games out of first place. The Sixers traded their most popular player since Dr. J (Allen Iverson) and they’re getting ready to jettison Chris Webber shortly. But, the Sixers needed a new direction and attitude. They might even wind up being a better team than they would have been with Iverson and Webber. The reason for that is they brought in a great point guard to get everyone involved on the offense and that guy is Andre Miller. Miller is averaging 13.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Look for Andre Iguodala to become a star as he’s averaging 16.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.1 steals per game. The Atlantic Division stinks so bad, even the Sixers could win it.
