The 76ers win in OT 98-95 over the Heat in Philadelphia

Blogged under Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 20 January 2007 at 5:06 pm

The Sixers really played great defense as they held the Heat to 36.4% from the floor and that made up for the fact that the Heat outrebounded the Sixers 55-36. Andre Iguodala had a solid game to lead the way for the Sixers with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. Willie Green had a solid game at the off-guard position with 16 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Andre Miller did a good job of directing the Sixers attack with 16 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists.

The Sixers improved to 11-29 with this win. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270119020

Sixers get mauled by the Grizzlies 118-102 in Memphis

Blogged under Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 18 January 2007 at 2:48 pm

The Sixers played no defense as the Grizzlies shot 53.8% from the floor. But it was the first half that did the Sixers in as they fell behind 70-49 and they could never catch up. Kyle Korver led the Sixers with 30 points off the bench. Willie Green also had a solid offensive game with 23 points. Samuel Dalembert was tough around the rim with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The Sixers fell to 10-29 on the season with this loss. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270117029

Sixers lay an egg and lose 104-86 to the Raptors in Toronto

Blogged under Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 16 January 2007 at 6:25 pm

The Sixers allowed the Raptors to hit 54.2% from the floor and that’s the main reason they lost this game. The Sixers played all 12 players on their roster more than 10 minutes which spoke volumes of Maurice Cheeks’ disappointment with the team’s effort. Andre Iguodala led the Sixers with 15 points. Samuel Dalembert (13 points, 6 rebounds) and Willie Green (13 points) each did their part while they were on the court.

Joe Smith needs to step up

Blogged under Need to step up, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Monday 15 January 2007 at 11:03 am

After the Sixers decided to jettison Chris Webber they handed the starting job to veteran Joe Smith who was acquired in the Allen Iverson trade. For the Sixers, Smith has played in 11 games (7 starts) and has averaged 23.6 minutes, 7.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 0.4 assists. The Sixers will need much more than that if they are to compete in the Atlantic Division on the NBA. I know the word “compete” sounds a little strange, but the division is that weak!

Sixers fall to the Bobcats in Charlotte 89-83

Blogged under Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Sunday 14 January 2007 at 6:28 pm

The 76ers only hit 39.7% from the floor as a team and that doomed them last night. Willie Green led the way for the Sixers with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Kyle Korver pitched in with 15 points.
