Power Forwards

Chris Webber is starting to slow down a bit, but he will be a perfect second fiddle to A.I. Webber is the prototype power forward in the NBA. Webber has good size and isn’t scared to mix it up under the basket. Webber has career averages of 21.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game.

Shavlik Randolph might get a little more playing time in his second year in the league. He didn’t get much of a chance to prove himself last season averaging 2.3 points & 2.3 rebounds per game.

Veteran Alan Henderson will be the #3 power forward on the Sixers this season. Henderson has always been a back-up, but he hustles and is a decent rebounder. Henderson has averaged 8.1 points & 5.1 rebounds per game over his long career.

Shaquille O’Neal didn’t play for the Heat, but this was still a good win for the Sixers. Allen Iverson had his usual game with 31 points, 4 rebounds and 13 assists. Kyle Korver continued his hot shooting nailing 5 of 6 3-pointers and scoring 22 points. Andre Iguodala had a good game with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. C-Web had a decent game with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Sixers built up a 57-41 halftime lead and made it stand up.

76ers nip Magic 105-103

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 4 November 2006 at 2:03 am

The Sixers got out-rebounded 44-22 and still won the basketball game because they shot 56.1% from the field as a team. Allen Iverson hit the game winning shot with 2.2 seconds left in the game. A.I. was unstoppable on Friday night as he scored 39 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, dished out 10 assists and hit 3 of 4 three-pointers. Kyle Korver came off of the bench firing, scoring 28 points and hitting all 4 of his 3-point attempts. Andre Iguodala & Chris Webber each chipped in with 11 points.

Any win on the road in the NBA…..is a good win.

Sixers push Hawks around 88-75

The 76ers played great defense all game long and the Hawks could never get anything going. Allen Iverson led the way on offense, scoring 32 points, grabbing 4 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists. Andre Iguodala had 15 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and a blocked shot. Chris Webber only scored 8 points, but he grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked 2 shots. Center Samuel Dalembert was a beast scoring 11 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, blocking 2 shots and stealing the ball three times.

The Sixers held the Hawks to 33.3% shooting from the field and stole the ball 10 times!

Shooting Guard

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 2 November 2006 at 6:30 pm

The Sixers have one of the most dynamic players in the league in Allen Iverson at shooting guard. The fact that his name even came up in trade talks has to have Sixers fans shaking their heads. Last season Iverson averaged 33.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game. A.I. has never been a great shooter, but when he gets hot it seems like everything drops in. Iverson gets to the foul line alot because he’s fearless when driving to the basket. That also leads to him getting injured and missing games, but that style is what makes him great so don’t look for him to change. For his career, A.I. has averaged 28.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 2.3 steals per game.

Kyle Korver will back up Iverson after starting last season. Korver’s main skill is his shooting ability. Korver has nailed 40.8% of his career three-pointers! Kyle has averaged 9.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in his career. Korver is also a back-up because he’s a poor defender.
